We were appointed by Historic Royal Palaces to assist with the re-presentation of Kensington Palace, its landscape and its relationship to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park.

From the instigation of the project in 2006 we worked with an in-house team to develop a feasibility study and concept designs for the re-presentation of the Palace. Our work examined visitor access, orientation and development of a visitor hub leading to narrative routes within the palace.

We re-examined the historic relationship of the Palace to Kensington Gardens and we proposed re-orientating the entrance sequence to make better connections with the gardens and to facilitate level access.

The supporting accommodation was rearranged to improve the archive and staff facilities. Our work was incorporated into a successful application for Heritage Lottery Funding.
