Trent Park House
Trent Park House is the former estate of the Sassoon family.
Sir Philip Sassoon remodelled the house as a venue for political and social entertaining in the 1920s. His guests included notable figures such as Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, Charlie Chaplin, TE Lawrence and Sir Winston Churchill.
At the outbreak of War it became home to Britain’s ‘Secret Listeners’ where British Intelligence bugged the conversations of German prisoners of war, including Hitler’s captured generals and senior officers.
Trent Park is recognised by Historic England as being of national and international significance on a level with Bletchley Park.
The Trust is currently working with Berkeley Homes to restore the stately rooms on the ground floor and the basement to interpret the role of the secret listeners.
We were appointed by the Trust in 2018 to plan the display spaces and support facilities and to work with Berkeley Homes to restore the rooms to their former glory.
