Kennedy O’Callaghan prepared a masterplan for a project funded by the HLF placing the Grahame White Factory (listed grade 2*) adjacent to the surviving inter-war workshop buildings (some listed grade 2) to create a period setting for the display of the oldest aircraft in the collection and creating an outdoor events area for festivals and holidays. KO’CA then took the lead role in converting and refurbishing the workshop buildings, for conversion to offices and stores, and acted as associate architect to Feilden Clegg Bradley Studio for the new display hall. The inter-war buildings resemble those at Bletchley Park. Work included conservation and alteration to provide services, a mezzanine and improved environmental conditions.
