The Tank Museum

We designed a major new display hall to display the Tank Museum's extensive collections.

Construction started in 2007 and the new building, with improved visitor facilities, was opened by HM The Queen in 2009.

A prefabricated control tower allows the curator to choreograph 'tank in action' demonstrations in the new arena.

The new display hall, measuring over 4,400 square metres, houses a display of seminal tanks from the 20th century. The top-lit space allows visitors to view tanks from a range of vantage points on ramps and mezzanines.

The project was phased over 10 years. Our input involved brief writing, feasibility studies, masterplanning, building design and construction stage.
